About Us

EcoKosWomen EKW, as a non-governmental organization, aims to contribute to social advancement in agriculture, environment and socio-economic issues. The specific focus of EKW’s work is the advancement of the position of women in the field of agriculture, environmental issues and gender issues. EKW is committed to increasing the inclusion of women in the economy through self-employment, which remains a major social challenge, through various activities. At the same time, it raises awareness for inclusive gender policies in all areas, especially for more favorable policies for women in rural areas. Marginalized social categories (with special emphasis) women in rural areas are a target group of EKW, while in the service of increasing their potential, EKW engages with policymakers and media representatives to raise various causes. EKW’s office is located in Pristina, but the scope of its activities is spread throughout the territory of Kosovo and in the region, the Western Balkans. The organization is equipped with the necessary tools and space that enables normal functioning in the implementation of tasks.

To achieve its objectives and fulfill the organization’s vision, EKW is open to strategic partnerships with various partners at the national, regional, and international levels. Currently, EKW is a member of the following mechanisms:

  1. RrGK – Network of Women of Kosovo
  2. KEN – Kosovo Environment Network
  3. Civikos Platform
  4. Gender Budgeting Watchdog Network
  5. EQUAPRO (Coalition for Gender Equality in the EU Accession Process)
  6. Regional Platform for the Improvement of the Economic and Social Status of Rural Women in the Western Balkans
